ART | A layer of film and a coat of dust

Saturday 28 May 2011

One of my favourite new finds is Pat Perry, illustrator/painter/magic maker/motorbiker extraordinaire. He also takes some lovely pictures which you can see over on his Flickr. I absolutely love the drawings that come from his imagination, the simultaneously creepy and cute little figures with large eyes and strange bodies, mixed in with more realistic animals, inset type, and a colourful mix of watercolour wash and digitalized colour. I'm desperate to get hold of some prints of images like the first image here. You can find his work on his portfolio, blog and Flickr, and he's also on Twitter (check the awesome background!). There's some really cool time-lapse videos of his drawings and paintings on his blog as well, which I'd definitely reccommend watching, and you can also take a look at some of his sketchbook work and life drawing.
